Bangkok Photo School: November Courses

Bangkok Photo School

Photography courses in Bangkok…

Several months back I did an interview for my buddy Amy: Like Photography? Take a Class in Bangkok!

And since I had a fantastic time during the photography courses mentioned in the interview (and learned a lot too), when Bangkok Photo School’s November schedule was announced, I thought I’d give you a heads up.

November 2009 courses will consist of:
Five Week MONDAY night BEGINNERS’ course (field trip on Sat 28 Nov)
Five week TUESDAY night BEGINNERS’ course (field trip on Sun 29 Nov)
Five week THURSDAY night INTERMEDIATE course (field trip on Sat 28 Nov)

You can trust me on this. If you are in need of a photography upgrade by experienced instructors, Jackie and Gavin’s Bangkok Photo School comes highly recommended. By me.

Enjoy…

  1. I need photo school too. Thai language school, photo school, finishing school…I need them all I think but actually taking them in Bangkok would be very cool.

The photo for this article is beautiful Cat…I can never pass up pretty Thai flowers when I have a camera with me.

  2. Talen, you already have the photography eye so taking a course from Jackie and Gavin would be a topper. And I know you’d enjoy the classes as they are held at the British Club, Bangkok. It’s right across the street from the Hindu Mosque on Silom. Then, after class, you can slide up to the bar for your liquid of choice… sigh… there is no better way to spend an evening.

Thanks! Pretty Thai flowers are everywhere. I now have a pair of small Sunbirds fluttering around on my patio, so tomorrow I’ll go to JJ’s and pick up some hibiscus (they love hibiscus). It will be a grand photo op.

  3. Catherine any course that is given by experts in someone’s particular field of interest is worthwhile and the longer term benefits are huge. Could you pick a better place in the world than Thailand to get tips, hints and advice from experts in subjects like photography, language, cookery and arts.

Bangkok would be one huge cultural learning curve in itself and an ideal spot to improve your hobby or like and walk away more skilled in your subject matter and hopefully a wiser person in life.

Photography is not really my passion but I have recently bought a better camera and I’m really looking forward to this month’s Thailand trip to try the little bugger out. Everywhere in the LOS seems to scream out and say ‘take a shot of me,’ the colours and scenary even amaze me. Unfortunately where I live in the UK no matter what direction I point my new Samsung a house, car and screaming kid come into shot, I’m really looking forward to clicking away in Thailand but more in a amateurish and hopeful way.

  4. Marty, Thailand is indeed the perfect place to hone photography skills, or even writing skills for that matter (I haven’t dipped into cooking courses yet as it’s just too easy to eat out).

When you are in the UK, you should come to my neck of the woods – Devon. Devon in spring tugs at my heart every year. Last year it niggled me to think about staying longer… we’ll see.

I am so looking forward to seeing your new venture into photography. A new camera beings new opportunities to light (and I can attest to that!)

  5. If your pictures are any indication of the skills and techniques they taught you at the BKK photo school, then they sure know what they’re doing! You’ve got some real talent, Cat, and I love your artistic eye for composition. :)

  6. Amy, thank you for your kinds words! Jackie and Gavin do indeed teach composition in their courses. Although I did break the rule of centering in this one, they also make clear that rules are meant to be broken.

When you are back here, maybe you could sign up for a class with them. As an artist, you’d fit right in. And you’d LOVE the wow’s in the class. The samples they show are breathtaking (I had to eventually bite my tongue because the beauty just kept coming).

  7. It sounds just wonderful. It is certainly in my future!
