The next step for the dictionary would be to include sound files of example sentences using the Thai word for each listing.
Not just one sentence, but several in various grammatical constructions. Now, THAT would be something!

That would make her dictionary just about perfect.

"Thank God for Ms. Becker! I have all of her DVD’s"

Then you'll be happy to know that the <a href="http://word-in-the-hand.com" rel="nofollow">dictionary with sound files</a> that I mentioned earlier was created by Benjawan and Chris. It's all good.

Beginning Thai was the second book I purchased for learning Thai. The very first one was JUMBO English-Thai Dictionary by Gordon Allison from which I learned to read and write Thai script by comparing the Roman-letter transliteration with the Thai script. Using logical deduction, I determined which Thai character was a consonant and which was a vowel. Crazy... Yeah.I know..that was 10 years ago and I REALLY wanted to learn Thai!
Then I discovered Benjawan's book in the same bookstore many months later! Then the clouds parted!!
Thank God for Ms. Becker! I have all of her DVD's.

Leo, Just like you said, Benjawan is the real deal (and the Thai language learning community is lucky to have her).

Btw - Benjawan sent out her latest product for review. There will also be a giveaway/contest, so please be sure to check back.

Five languages? Impressive! I'm envious. I'm not good at languages, but I am determined to learn Thai.

Wiworn Kesavatana-Dohrs - great idea (thanks!) And you are right, 'Everyday Thai For Beginners' is one of the best books out there. It is not an absolute beginners book, but it is a great book. I bought a copy for my Thai teacher and she fell in love with it too.
