Lucosity, on the matter of Benjawan's products - not that I know of. But what I do know is that she has new plans for Paiboon Publishing in the works.

Martyn, My latest thrill with books and google has been towards learning how we learn languages. And it really is an interesting subject. Those writing are convinced that you can cut your study time by focusing on your learning style and ignoring most of the rest. After taking it all in, I can't quite say that I'm one or the other style on their lists (and some are widespread), but a compilation.

Daniel and Catherine - “Listen and speak like a bird.”....I like this approach or drill, it's time consuming but it is effectively as Daniel puts it what we do as youngsters when learning the sounds of our own language. That alone makes it a proven formula.

Unfortunately we don't all have time to consume in great amounts but applying this method to what little learning someone may do will surely embed it in the mind and make the language progression more quicker long term. A little bit like the tortoise and hare.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Daniel's years in Bangkok but what a shame about the hill tribe lady. I don't think I could walk away from someone like that but I guess that makes Daniel a more focused and gutsier person than me. I bet his heart strings still twang from time to time. Mine would need the finest string, brass and woodwind musicians accompanied by a very energetic conductor.
