Me too! I can't get my head around sin sod. I read Thailand Fever totally expecting to find something else. But Chris and co created a book that is quite balanced (imo).

I also used the previous dictionary - Thai-English English-Thai by Becker - it's the most dog-eared dictionary of the bunch.

It was also one of the ones that came highly recommended when I started into Thai.

Chris's Three Way Thai-English dictionary is thicker by a third, but the exact same size as the previous. And looking at the binding (I've been bending it back and forth to test), it's just as durable, so will last a good long time.

Catherine Wentworths last blog post..<a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/womenlearnthai/PKcd/~3/wJj8ELnSDlo/">Quick & Dirty Thai Language Learning with Myke Hawke</a>

I read his Thailand Fever one. Glad I'm a farang female and don't have to worry about Sin Sot. (dowry). The book was quite entertaining and a quick read. I must admit I have not yet seen the new dictionary yet, but I do use the old version.

I really enjoyed Thailand Fever. Although it is good for Western women too, maybe we could get Chris to write a female version of it?

What's not working for you with the flashcards? I just downloaded one. Are you using FireFox? It can be a real pain these days.

It's an excellent site for free resources and Chris' book is a great guide to Thai-Farang relationships.

The flashcards on the site don't seem to be working at the moment but I'll contact Chris and see if he can fix it.

Chris has one of the few decent explanations out there dealing with transliteration styles. I kept forgetting, or it would have been referenced on WLT a lot more than it has.
